Upcycled Eco-Friendly Baby Bib with Free PDF pattern

Updated: May 7, 2019

OPTION 2: WITHOUT BIAS BINDING BEGINNER FRIENDLY BABY BIB

Hi guys,

I wanted to quickly update about the baby bib tutorial, since it can be a bit challenging to handle all of those layers together, so here is how we can make quick and easy baby bib faster than with using bias binding.

You will need to gather your towelling, your main fabric and a bit of Velcro or a (couple of) snaps, plus the free PDF pattern that you can download by signing up as a member here: https://www.seweasypeasy.com/members

Sew one bit of Velcro to each upper side, one on the towel the other on the main, then put them right side together with the Velcro being on each side, like shown on he picture below:

Then sew it all together using a 1/4 inch seam allowance, make sure you leave a couple inches left non-sewn together like so

Clip and notch, press

Turn right side out through the bottom bit still not sewn together, and press. Make sure you press the bottom seam allowance within the bib, like shown on the picture below:

Then you can either slip stitch, or if you're not confident with hand-stitching just use a zigzag stitch all the way around your bib and make sure you close the raw edges at the bottom. Ta-dah! You have made a gorgeous bib, it will be the perfect present for a baby shower or a young mother, or just for your stash, you never have too many of those!

Our Loulou looks so cute and trendy with his leopard printed bibs

Please let me know what you made, please share your gorgeous make with me @seweasypeasy on IG and Twitter using #FreePattern and on Facebook @seweasypeasyblog and also in Pinterest of course!

Happy sewing,

Claire xx
